The Sámi Parliament, together with local partners in Sápmi, as well as Norwegian and international advisors and supporters, has commissioned the formalities for establishing a foundation in the legendary Mázejoavku: Sámi Dáiddajoavku house.
In the spirit of the Máze joavku, the event will include numerous happenings including workshops:
- Indigenous methodologies, welcomes Sami and Indigenous artists and curators such as Candice Hopkins (curator, Documenta 14).
- Yoik, sound and music, is led by musician Johan Sara Jr. and welcomes Sami and Indigenous artistic practitioners related to these fields.
OCA is supporting both of these workshops.
- Dictionary of Indigenous aesthetics, is led by Jan-Erik Lundström (SDG, Kárášjohka) and Anna Hudson (York University, Canada/Turtle Island) and are funded by MICH (Mobilizing Inuit Cultural Heritage, York University, Canada/Turtle Island).
Museum exhibition: RiddoDuottarMuseat will conduct an exhibition on the Alta Actions, with the support of the Sámi Parliament.
Panel discussion: this will include members of the legendary Mázejoavku: Sámi Dáiddajoavku and other speakers, including representatives from Documenta 14.
